The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

The Arc of Cape Cod's Vision Statement:
The Arc of Cape Cod believes that all people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have strengths, abilities and inherent value; are equal before the law; and must be treated with dignity and respect. The Arc represents supports and acts on behalf of individuals and their families. The Arc believes in self-determination by empowering people with the supports and knowledge needed to make informed decisions and choices.
The Arc of Cape Cod works toward and believes in the community imperative: that all people have the fundamental moral, civil and constitutional rights to live, learn, work, play and worship in safe and healthy communities of their choosing.
The Arc values diversity in its leadership and membership. The Arc actively pursues and welcomes diverse groups (including but not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender and level of disability)

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

The National Employment and Training Program provides competitive employment opportunities to 900 adults with mental retardation annually (7,500 beneficiaries; $1,134,000 in expenses). The Public Information and Referral Program distributes information about mental retardation, employment, education and many other subjects to chapters and members, families, the media, and professionals through a toll-free number, (1-800-433-5255), The Arc's Web page, thearc.org and through written requests. The Fetal Alcohol Prevention Program produces and distributes materials and information about causes and prevention of fetal alcohol syndrome and fetal alcohol effect (1,000,000; $25,000). Chapter and Membership Services Programs develop and furnish administrative and membership information to 1,000 state and local chapters (250,000; $675,000). The Governmental Affairs Program addresses issues that affect people with mental retardation (1,500,000; $750,000).

Providing adults with developmental disabilities a full range of individual supports to assist them in becoming valued members of their community. The services are available to individuals selected by the Department of Developmental Services.
