Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
VFW members volunteer in their communities through Make A Difference Day and National Volunteer Week. Collectively, the VFW's influence has helped to establish the Veterans Administration, create a GI bill for the 20th century, develop the national cemetery system and fight for compensation for Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange and for veterans diagnosed with Gulf War Syndrome. VA medical centers and services for women veterans have also resulted from the efforts of the VFW.
