Mission

For more than two decades, MoveOn members have organized and mobilized together, putting our collective people power to work to build a country and world where everyone can thrive. Starting with our founding petition in 1998, have been at the forefront of innovating new ways digital tech can empower ordinary people from all walks of life to make their voices heard. MoveOn members have played a leading role in ending the war in Iraq, passing and defending landmark legislation such as the Affordable Care Act, and advancing racial, economic, and other forms of social justice. Since the 2016 election, we have been a pillar of the Resistance movement working to limit the harm caused by Trump and the GOP, while laying the groundwork for progress.

Coronavirus Relief

When the COVID-19 crisis struck our nation, there was an immediate need
for comprehensive protections for essential workers. MoveOn advocated
for critical COVID-19 relief and protections for immigrants, working
families, and essential workers amidst this global pandemic. MoveOn
also rapidly responded to the millions of families experiencing
financial insecurity and other hardships due to the COVID-19 crisis. We
worked to create a centralized online database of resources to help
folks navigate the coronavirus crisis and easily access needed
information and aid. The hub includes support material for essential
employees, gig workers, immigrants, refugees, the LGBTQ+ community,
people with disabilities, artists, and seniors.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

As a member-led organization, MoveOn Civic Action aims to drive tangible policy wins that address some of the most pressing issues of our present and future, such as narrowing the wealth inequality gap, combating climate change, ensuring social equity and justice, and creating a pathway to citizenship for the undocumented. This also includes bolstering progressive movement moments to create public mounting pressure for bold change and expand the reality of what’s possible.

We mobilize our millions of members to take action for progressive policies and drive advocacy campaigns to shift public opinion toward bolder progress and advance our vision for the world. As a rapid-response campaign organization, we remain nimble with our strategies and tactics to respond to the moment as needed.
