Program 1

DuBois Sculpture Project The Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires, as fiscal sponsor for the WEB Du Bois Sculpture Project, received a $10,000 grant to fund three maquettes (miniture scales sculptures) that will be created by finalists for the Du Bois sculpture competition. The models will be presented to the selection jury in June of 2023. The sculpture project will eventually yield a life-size bronze statue of DuBois gazing at the new Mason Library plaza from a sweeping marble bench. The statue would be approachable (especially to children), inviting us to join DuBois - to sit, visit, read, and learn.
