Mission

Founded in 1998,the Parrot Fanciers' Club was formed to educate all bird owners on the proper care & feeding of their pet birds. Located in NY, birds have come in from Delaware and have been adopted out as far as Texas & New Hampshire. Any type of bird, with any temperament or disability is always taken into the Parrot Haven. Parrots are placed in members qualified homes. Our goal is too never have any bird go homeless, hungry or die from lack of medical intervention. All involved are volunteers. No person receives any type of salary or financial compensation.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Monthly meetings are conducted to educate members & nonmembers. The Parrot Phone hotline is available 24 hours a day. Birds can be groomed at meeting. Clipping is encouraged to prevent flighted birds from escaping. Proper nutrition, housing, safety & feeding tips are provided to each person calling the hotline. In home grooming and consultations are available at no cost, though donations are appreciated. The birds are displayed at street fairs, nursing homes, hospitals, schools, scout meetings, expos, providing public awareness of the club and our availability to assist those in need, whether it be fostering or placing a bird.
