What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Social Emotional Learning

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is a process through which children and adults develop the fundamental skills for life effectiveness. These are the skills we all need to handle ourselves, our relationships, and our work effectively and ethically. Our social emotional approach focuses on Restorative Practices and creates opportunities for necessary, age-appropriate social and emotional skill development preparing our scholars to become social leaders and advocates. Instruction focuses on self-awareness, empathy, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and goal setting. In addition to in-class sessions, Haven's programming provides small group interventions and individual counseling. Families are a key component in social emotional learning and developing individual support plans.
