Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Live in Concert!

Live in Concert! (LIC!) is our community engagement program, providing students, families, and educators from New York City public schools, publicly-funded day care centers, and social service organizations with free live concert experiences through attendance at our weekday dress rehearsals and weekend performances. We deepen the educational impact of concert experiences by creating pre- and post-concert discovery guides and pre-concert family workshops.

Population(s) Served

Musical Connections: The School Partnership Program® (MC) is our in-school music composition residency program, supported by our concert programming and providing music education and live concert experiences for students in Grades Pre-K to 3 in NYC public schools. MC works with all students, regardless of learning style or special needs, to teach the elements of music so that they create collaborative class compositions later performed by professional musicians.

Population(s) Served

Project 65Plus is our life-long learning initiative serving the rapidly expanding NYC senior population, and connecting with the increasing number of grandparents who are the primary caregivers for children. We provide free tickets for weekday dress rehearsals and weekend and evening performances, partnering with various public and social service organizations to target those with limited means and access to cultural events.

Population(s) Served

Happy Concerts for Young People presents timeless works from the orchestral repertoire for children ages 6 and up. This series preserves the historical and musical integrity of the works while engaging today’s concertgoers through new mediums.

Population(s) Served

The Lolli-Pops™ concert series for children ages 5 and under introduces our youngest audience members to the basic elements of music, aided by engaging story lines and new technology.
