Our book club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The book club offers literacy support to students ranging from 5th grade to 8th grade. Three sessions meet on those days, with about 15-18 students in each group. Students discuss the characters, plot twists, and themes of the book together. This helps them understand the story better and think about it from different angles. Book clubs are a great way for students to meet others who enjoy reading and share their thoughts and feelings about the book with friends and classmates. It helps students develop their communication skills., and they learn to express their ideas clearly, listen respectfully to others, and debate points in a friendly way. Sharing their thoughts in a supportive group can boost students' confidence and they discover they have interesting insights to share.
