Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Yidish-vokh ("Yiddish Week")
Yidish-vokh - one-week total immersion Yiddish language summer camp for Yiddish speakers from children, college students and young adults, to families and seniors.
Kinder-Loshn Publications - Yiddish Children's Books
In 2017, Yugntruf launched Kinder-Loshn Publications (www.kinderloshn.org) to to preserve and make accessible a trove of forgotten Yiddish children's literature, as well as new Yiddish/English children's books.
Printed in new bilingual editions, with updated Yiddish fonts, vocabulary, and spelling, and attractive new illustrations, Kinder-Loshn's Yiddish/English children's books are cultural and educational resources for countless English-/Yiddish-speaking children, parents, teachers/professors, and students, as well as kindergartens, schools, universities, and adult Yiddish reading circles.
In 2021, Kinder-Loshn published our first Yiddish/English edition: Solomon Simon's "Dos Kluge Shnayderl" ("The Clever Little Tailor"). Kinder-Loshn will publish bilingual editions of Jenny Kjaebro's preschool picture book, "Uh-oh!" ("Gevald!")in 2022; Max Weinreich's "Der Beyzer Beys" ("The Big Bad Beys")in 2023; and Jacob Glatstein’s young adult book, "Emil and Karl" in 2024.
