What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

-The Matrix Awards -- Every April, NYWICI honors remarkable women who have achieved the highest level of excellence in eight fields of communications with the prestigious Matrix Award. The NYWICI Matrix Awards Luncheon is an opportunity for these leaders to share their stories. One of the industry's highest profile and best attended events, it also features an illustrious panel of award presenters and prominent keynote speakers. Matrix honorees frequently serve as speakers at other NYWICI programs, as well as on our board of advisors.

-Industry-Related Programs -- Nationally recognized speakers participate in provocative panel discussions and provide insight into the issues and trends affecting women in the communications industry.

-Career-Development Programs - Experts lead workshops and other how-to oriented programs designed to help members develop or refine career-building skills.

-Cocktails & Conversations - Although all NYWICI events provide opportunities for meeting other professionals who share an interest in continued professional growth, our informal Cocktails & Conversations events focus specifically on networking. Held at the beginning of the month, they provide time for introductions and an information exchange, as well as a brief career-development-oriented program.

-Student Programs - Students are welcome at NYWICI events, but we also sponsor a conference and workshops that offer them an opportunity to learn about the industry first-hand from its leaders, participate in discussions about careers and industry issues, improve job-seeking skills, and interview with potential employers. Internship opportunities are posted to our Web site at www.nywici.org.

-NYWICI Foundation - The foundation is intended to foster excellence and encourage diversity in the communications profession by making a difference in the lives of individuals. Funded by proceeds from the Matrix Awards luncheon and individual and corporate donations, its activities include offering scholarships and job-related opportunities.
