Distinguished Service to the Field Awards

Established in 2002, the Association of Teaching Artists Distinguished Service to Field Awards seek to raise the visibility of Teaching Artists within the arts in education fields and in the organizations for which they work. In 2019 the Awards were expanded to offer three categories:

*Distinguished Service to the Field Award--awarded to a long-tenured artist educator
*Innovation in Teaching Artistry Award-- awarded to an early to mid-career teaching artist demonstrating innovation in the field.
*Teaching Artist Ally Award--awarded to a professional integral to the work of teaching artists, but not a teaching artist themselves

Awards are open to national nomination and voted on by a panel of arts education peers selected by ATA. The Awards ceremony is held in New York City and live-streamed to ATA's national and international online following.
