Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We aim to address the following: 1) Juvenile delinquincy, sex trafficking, illiteracy, child slavery. The National Coalition for Haitian Rights estimates 300,000 children are working as restaveks/slaves. The girls who are under ou care were living in deplorable conditions before entering our home for disadvantaged children. They did not know how to read or write. Some of them were covered with sores and homeless. 2) Malnutrition: Our Food Distribution program is crucial in handling the food shortage which continues in Haiti. 3) Infectious Diseases: About 75% of the population of Petit-Goave did not have access to clean drinking water. This has resulted in contaminated water carrying diseases such as chronic diarrhea, typhoid, and cholera. Our Clean Water program has saved many lives in Petit-Goave and surrounding areas.

Clean Water Program
Before the 2010 devastating earthquake, about 75% of the population of Petit-Goave, Haiti did not access to clean drinking water. This has resulted in contaminated water carrying diseases such as chronic diarrhea, typhoid, cholera, etc.
To alleviate this situation, we have installed deep water wells in rural areas of Petit-Goave.
Agriculture Project
The goal of this program is to continue addressing hunger by assisting our target beneficiaries on becoming self-sufficient.
We identified a small farmer's group that is potentially productive if strategically facilitated. The project seeks to help support them carrying out their normal economic occupations, particularly with farming and livestock keeping.
The aim of this intervention is to enable these economically vulnerable familiess to produce enough food for home consumption and to have excess for sale to provide for the education of their children.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Improve the lives of disadvantaged children who are wallowing in the darkness of poverty and ignorance.
2. Provide clean water wells to ensure that the poorest of the poor including the elderly are no longer forced to drink contaminated water.
3. Ensure that the poorest of the poor including the elderly have at least one daily meal.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. Our center in Petit-Goave provides to the disadvantaged children a loving home, education, moral values, medical care, fellowship, and an opportunity to move towards their maximum life potential.
2. The three deep wells that Ste Jeanne D'arc Haiti Foundation had installed after the earthquake have made a vital difference to the health of Haitians living in Petit-Goave and neighboring towns. They have saved thousands of lives from the cholera outbreak which was rampant in Haiti.
3. Our Food Distribution and Medical Assistance Program has made some strides in keeping the poorest of the poor alive.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Strong leadership: Ability/capability to lead and collaborate in effecting positive communication within and among Ste Jeanne D'Arc Haiti Foundation's partner organizations, donors, beneficiaries, and other relevant stakeholders.
Capability to create innovative programs in the non-profit sector that produce maximum results with minimal capital. For example, we have seen the children who are under our care rose beautifully from the ashes and rubble of the 2010 earthquake to articulated young girls full of dignity, self-esteem and hope. We want the people affected by our efforts to notice real improvements.
Capability to inspire and motivate staff/volunteer for maximum productivity. We believe in the dignity of every human being. When we assist another person, we serve the noblest aspect of our humanity.
Capability to adapt just to survive in the very competitive field of non-profit. We realize that the power to effect change comes from our tireless efforts.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
-We have improved significantly the lives of disadvantaged children who were living in desperate conditions as a result of the 2010 earthquake. The center which we established gives them a loving home, medical care, nutritious meals, education, fellowship, and an opportunity to move towards their maximum life potential. We are building capacity of the girls to make decisions and take actions that positively impact their lives and those around them.
- We installed three deep wells that provide clean subterranean drinking water to thousands of residents of Petit-Goave and surrounding neighborhoods. This has saved many lives from the cholera outbreaks in Haiti.
- Our Food Distribution and Medical Assistance Program has made some strides in keeping the poorest of the poor alive. We serve over 250 participants daily. This has reduced the symptoms of malnutrition such as poor immune function, bloated stomach, fatigue, muscle weakness, and weariness.
