Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The ultimate goal we hope to achieve is to prevent child abuse from occurring in the three counties we serve.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have a You Tube channel and are posting educational presentations and prevention tips in an effort to reach a broader population. We also post prevention and educational materials on social media several times a week. We have a Volunteer Coordinator and and Education Coordinator who continue to reach out to every school within the three counties and offer free training to teachers/faculty (mandated reporters) Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse. We utilize evidence based curriculums in all educational programs. We have enhanced these by including internet safety and information regarding child trafficking. We also reach out to organizations and ask for the opportunity to present.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Well educated, well trained staff whose primary goals are to increase our volunteer base, thus increasing our outreach efforts throughout the communities served. These positions are partially funded through grants, foundations and fund-raising activities.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since the beginning of the CAC in Hood County in 2006, we have been able to increase the services offered to the community. The staff has grown to 18 which is quadrupled from the original staff. This is due to increased funding received when an increased demand for services was identified throughout the state. This provided the opportunity to grow our staff and services and make a stronger impact in the community.
