What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release)
TRANS/FCC's TNR program rescues outdoor cats for the purpose of meeting their medical needs, including spay/neuter, and returning them to their outdoor homes. TNR reduces outdoor cat populations, as well as behavior such as spraying and yowling. TNR also improves health by reducing instances of ovarian and testicular cancer in cats.
Foster/Adopt
TRANS/FCC's Foster & Adopt program serves two purposes - foster caregivers provide homes for outdoor cats to recover from injury or illness, as necessary. Adopters provide homes for animals that are unable to be returned to the outdoors.
Volunteers
TRANS/FCC's volunteer program entirely supports the organization's mission. Local community volunteers implement TNR and foster/adopt in their own neighborhoods, engaging the community and helping cats in local areas.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
MISSION
Feral Cat Consortium will eliminate the suffering and breeding of free-roaming cats in southeastern Louisiana by humanely trapping, neutering, and returning them to their outdoor homes. Sick and injured animals are given care and placed in new indoor homes as appropriate.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
GOALS
– To eliminate euthanasia as a means of animal control for free-roaming cats within the community.
– To educate the community about the importance of spay/neuter to the health and safety of free-roaming cats.
– To engage volunteers within the community to support the organization's mission.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Feral Cat Consortium is fully funded and supported by volunteers and donors, and has the equipment and manpower needed to deliver its mission. FCC's goal in 2017 is to increase its ability to save and change lives in southeast Louisiana.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Feral Cat Consortium initiated an organization-wide assessment in 2016 that resulted in the following: a development & communication plan that includes a communication and fundraising calendar, as well as a refreshed and developed donor database; a new website; integration of social media and website; new secure and easy-to-use donation processes.
