Guided Birding Tours

As a leading destination for birdwatching in the Rio Grande Valley, we aim to provide visitors from all over the world with a rewarding opportunity to experience the nature and wildlife found in the Laguna Madre coastal area. Our guided birding tours, led by our expert Naturalist and Environmental Educator, offer visitors the chance to observe and learn about the amazing birds and unique habitat within South Padre Island.

As a nature center, one of our primary goals is to educate the public about the importance of the wildlife that surrounds us. As an alligator sanctuary, a focus of ours is to help our visitors understand the reptiles that reside in our area, specifically alligators and snakes, and to dispel common misconceptions regarding these fascinating animals. Visitors are able to attend one of our three daily Gator Talks to learn all about the incredible American Alligator species and the resident alligators in our sanctuary. We also offer one daily Snake Talk to give our visitors the opportunity to expand their knowledge about snakes -- one of Earth's most misunderstood creatures.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We aim to serve the public through environmental education and events that provide opportunity for people to actively contribute to the protection and care of the habitats within our coastal area.

We host guided tours, kids programs, lecture circuits and more educational opportunities to educate the public about the biodiversity of the Laguna Madre coastal area and encourage a deep understanding of the wildlife that surrounds us.

We have a master naturalist who organizes bird tours, kids' camps and other educational and volunteer events and a herpetologist who leads daily presentations about alligators and snakes.

We've been able to hold successful camps for all ages and hope to continue expanding our kids' education programming.
