Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our vision is a world where all people value, understand, and care for the ocean. We hope that each and every participant in our programs leaves with a greater sense of appreciation for our marine environment and the challenges it faces, and that we will equip both present and future decision makers with the knowledge they need to act in favor of our seas.

Our strategy includes four main program areas - day programs for children, week-long camp programs and ocean expeditions for children and teens, adult programs, and outreach and scholarship programs for local underprivileged students.

We also conduct research on our island's ecosystems, and offer opportunities for community members of all ages to participate in the scientific process.

Sanibel Sea School has a full-time staff of 10, which includes marine scientists, educators, and administrators. We also have a Board that includes members with a broad range of skills and expertise.

We reach our clients through three campus locations, and have built partnerships with two resorts as a strategy to reach a larger number of people with our ocean conservation message.

Our day programs, camps, adult programs, and outreach programs are growing consistently each year, and we continue to receive regular positive feedback from clients.

In the near future, we hope to further grow our research programs, to offer additional leadership programs specifically for young girls, and to expand our outreach offerings.
