Davidsons Fort Historic Park, Inc.
Mission
Davidson's Fort Historical Park is a re-creation of the original Davidson's Fort built in 1776 in Old Fort, North Carolina that will function for the primary purpose of interpreting the history and culture of the region during the Revolutionary War-era. The organization will accomplish this goal by creating a replica Fort in which they will present historically accurate educational programs, and programs that are complimentary to elementary school curriculum. The park will provide an economic benefit to both the town of Old Fort and McDowell County by promoting itself as an authentic historical attraction and a center for period reenactments thereby increasing tourism resulting in new, local revenue created by visitor expenditures.
