Mission

TroopTreats seeks to enrich the lives of our service men and women serving overseas by sending care packages, letters, and cookies that show we care and support them. TroopTreats is a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization, not politically affiliated. We strive to support our troops abroad!

TroopTreats aims to improve the lives of soldiers stationed abroad by meeting their basic human needs.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

COOKIES – THE ORIGINAL START

Approximately 150 fit in a box. Everything is calculated as 3 cookies per person. If it is a larger group, (platoon, company, ship) boxes go accordingly. The padding is the comics pages from the newspaper, with the sports section thrown in when available. Coffee packs, magazines or paperback books go on the top

Population(s) Served

We make up small stockings with 2 items, a couple of pieces of candy, a candy cane and a hand-signed Christmas card, which fit in quart-sized baggies and approx 35-40 of them fit in a paper box. The larger stockings are for people who have not gotten mail throughout the year (and there were a LOT of them) but there were enough small stockings to make sure everyone got something.

Population(s) Served

Care packages of snack baggies and toiletry baggies are perfectly sized for fitting in the side pocket of the BDU’s and, once the contents are gone, the personnel can use the bags to protect their letters and pictures from home—the most important thing they can have so far from home.

People save toiletries from the hotels when they travel and send them from all over the country to be included in the shipments.

Population(s) Served

We purchase bears in pairs as "battle buddies." They are dressed in camo uniforms and "deployed," one overseas, one stateside. The ones stateside are with groups of children. We ask that when the kids are making a project, that they take picture, with the bear in the pictures. Then the projects are sent overseas to the troops, along with the pictures. The troops overseas take pictures of their bear, doing whatever they normally do. That way the children have a connection to their note recipients.
