*Seek partnerships with other municipalities that advance access to adequate, affordable housing.
*Expand service area to pursue new projects and initiatives.

Goal: Build Societal Impact
Between 2014 – 2016, we Habitat for Humanity will mobilize volunteers and serve as a leading voice in affordable housing.
Strategic Objectives -
*Mobilize volunteers as hearts, hands and voices for the cause of adequate, affordable housing.
*Serve as a leading voice in growing awareness of housing as a critical foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Habitat’s plan has three main components. The organization seeks to improve housing conditions for an ever-larger number of our community's poor and low-income families; support and influence partner organizations to increase access to housing and advocate for affordable housing policies; and mobilize hands, hearts and voices of volunteers in the cause of adequate and affordable housing.

To accomplish these goals, Habitat will continue to build, renovate and rehabilitate homes and cultivate community engagement in its work while growing capacity to serve families, those affected by poverty, and respond to the ongoing housing needs of the urbanizing world. By the end of 2016, Habitat will help to build 2 homes annually, effectively doubling the annual impact it has today.

Habitat will support efforts that increase affordable housing opportunities and promote policies and systems that advance access to adequate, affordable housing.

The organization will seek to grow awareness of housing as a critical foundation for breaking the cycle of poverty and mobilize volunteers for the cause of adequate, affordable housing. By the end of 2016, the organization seeks to double the number of volunteers engaged in its mission annually in supporting the cause of affordable shelter.

Between 2014 – 2016, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plainfield & Middlesex County will improve our capacity to mobilize financial and human resources and steward them faithfully. We aim to "fund the mission" in accomplishing these three sustainable initiatives to improve our long-term funding sources. For the first time in our affiliate's history, we seek to hire a fulltime Fundraising Professional to lead our efforts in cultivating major donors. To commemorate our 25th Anniversary, a capital fund will be launched to raise the private capital to open a ReStore - which is a nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Revenues from ReStores are therefore unrestricted and provides a sustainable source of funding to build more Habitat homes.

Quarterly, our Board of Directors monitor our progress towards our Strategic Goals. We are making significant strides, especially in the area of increasing housing access. For the first time in our 25 year history, we are building in another community - the Borough of Highland Park - whom they have generously donated a buildable vacant lot to us.
