Mission

NJPP helps to provide creative, credible solutions for problems facing New Jersey. Our research, analysis and commentary are aimed at making sure government plays an activist role to help people reach their full potential, that we have the viable public sector that a civil society requires and that policy does not rely on the market alone because doing so will not bring a widely shared, rising standard of living.

Our programs

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We produce informative, provocative reports on a number of issues, but centering mainly on tax and economic policy. NJ's over-reliance on local property taxes creates a number of other problems with regard to justice and fairness. In addition NJPP has done work on such issues as: family leave; voting rights and government reform; transportation funding and improving the state budget process.
