Mission

The
Committee of 1926, organized at the time of the
Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Declaration of Independence, is an
historic women’s organization that has acted as the administrative trust
of Historic Strawberry Mansion since the Mansion was opened to the
public as a house museum in 1931. The Committee has had a lease from the
City of Philadelphia since that date to care for the Mansion and its
collection, as well as to interpret both to the public at large.
