What we aim to solve
Unplanned Pregnancy: With all the attention in the media about abortion legislation, we seek to address the problem of unplanned pregnancy in a personal and practical way, apart from the political and legislative realm. When a woman faces an unplanned pregnancy and does not think she has options we are a resource providing education through options counseling and supporting services. We empower a woman to make an informed decision about her pregnancy. In a nutshell, we don't want any woman facing an unplanned pregnancy to feel she is alone and has no options.

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
In the last 30 years, we have served hundreds of clients, at least 395 babies have been born (that we know of) to the clients we have served. We have provided many of the parents of these children with our Earn While You Learn (EWYL) parenting curriculum to help them become responsible and good parents. Each client earns "Mommy Money" to purchase necessary items (cribs, strollers, baby food, diapers, clothing) in our gift shop, full of donations from the community.
We receive occasional grants from local foundations, but most funding is from individual and church donations, and from our 3 annual fundraising events: a baby bottle drive in January, a walk-a-thon in the late spring, and a banquet in the fall.
In May 2019, we began offering to clients free limited obstetric ultrasounds for confirmation of pregnancy. This involved the purchase of ultrasound equipment, training by a national organization, and securing both a local physician to serve as our medical director to oversee the medical services and to sign off on all ultrasounds, and a nurse manager to conduct the ultrasounds and coordinate this new category of services.
Next on the agenda is to continue to increase our visibility in the community, continue to train more volunteers. We are currently (2021) preparing to add STI screening to our services.
