Young Parents Support Network (YPSN) Mentorship Program

YPSN is a one-on-one mentorship program for low-income teen parents ages 13 to 19. Our community, evidence-based program serves teens in Delaware County, PA, as well as surrounding counties in the region.

Our program matches mentees with trained, volunteer mentors for one year. Mentees, with the support of their mentors, set specific self-sufficiency goals to achieve in that year. Meeting on a weekly basis, mentors provide advice, guidance, and friendship to mentees to help them achieve their goals.

Our mentorship model has proven successful as reflected by our impressive outcomes:

- 90 percent or more of teens will graduate from high school or advance to the next grade.
- 85 percent or more of teens will have no additional pregnancies

Population(s) Served

WomenCare is a one-on-one mentorship program for low-income adult women in transition ages 20 and older (survivors of domestic abuse, single mothers, the un/underemployed, etc.). Our community, evidence-based program serves participants in Delaware County, PA, as well as surrounding counties in the region.

Our program matches mentees with trained, volunteer mentors for one year. Mentees, with the support of their mentors, set specific self-sufficiency goals to achieve in that year. Meeting on a weekly basis, mentors provide advice, guidance, and friendship to mentees to help them achieve their goals.

Our mentorship model has proven successful as reflected by our impressive outcomes: ­75 percent or more of adult women will reach one or more self-sufficiency goals.

TeenCare is a one-on-one mentorship program for low-income teens ages 13 to 19 who are at risk of not graduating high school due to reasons such as bullying, educational barriers, mental health issues, etc.. Our community, evidence-based program serves teens in Delaware County, PA, as well as surrounding counties in the region.

Our program matches mentees with trained, volunteer mentors for one year. Mentees, with the support of their mentors, set specific self-sufficiency goals to achieve in that year. Meeting on a weekly basis, mentors provide advice, guidance, and friendship to mentees to help them achieve their goals.
