What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Young Parents Support Network (YPSN) Mentorship Program
YPSN is a one-on-one mentorship program for low-income teen parents ages 13 to 19. Our community, evidence-based program serves teens in Delaware County, PA, as well as surrounding counties in the region.
Our program matches mentees with trained, volunteer mentors for one year. Mentees, with the support of their mentors, set specific self-sufficiency goals to achieve in that year. Meeting on a weekly basis, mentors provide advice, guidance, and friendship to mentees to help them achieve their goals.
Our mentorship model has proven successful as reflected by our impressive outcomes:
- 90 percent or more of teens will graduate from high school or advance to the next grade.
- 85 percent or more of teens will have no additional pregnancies
