Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To provide young people with the opportunity to compete in a sport that develops teamwork, a strong work ethic, physical fitness, the ability to focus and to achieve goals, and humility.

Provide safe and fun opportunities to compete in rowing.\r\nMake these opportunities affordable to youth and their families.\r\nPromote the sport of rowing by encouraging and supporting the development of new programs in high schools.

The PSRA is recognized as one of the premier leagues and organizations in the sport of scholastic rowing. It is a populist grassroots organization with a unique governance that is completely democratic. Leadership, rules, policies and other aspects of running our events are voted upon by coach representatives from our member teams. Although largely staffed by volunteers, the PSRA regattas and its governace operate by highly professional standards.

The Growth of Our Association - by 40% in 10 years.\r\nThe Popularity of Our Regattas with Non-Member Teams that are allowed to compete in three of our six regattas. This number increases every year.\r\nKeeping the sport affordable to youth and their families, which is a growing challenge. Our expenses have increased by nearly 30% in six years, but we have raised dues only once by 9%.\r\nIn spite of our growth, we have not been successful in fundraising, something we need to do to continue to meet increases in expenses yet maintain our affordability.
