(THE ASSOCIATION) FURTHERS THE BUSINESS INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS THROUGH A SOUND SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE SAFE USE OF FLAVORS. THROUGH EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION OF ITS MEMBERS, THE ASSOCIATION FOSTERS A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THE FLAVOR INDUSTRY CAN CREATE, INNOVATE, AND COMPETE.

A PANEL OF SCIENTIFIC EXPERTS IS RETAINED BY THE ASSOCIATION TO ADVISE IT ON MATTERS OF INGREDIENT SAFETY. FEMA DID NOT ENGAGE IN LOBBYING ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR.
