To provide balanced, nutritious & appealing meals to seniors, people with disabilities & disadvantaged populations. We strive to improve the physical & mental health of those we serve by providing, either directly or through cooperation with other organizations, a range of goods & services that improve the quality of life.

Liberty Meals on Wheels Contingency Fund for Emergency Support

The Liberty Meals on Wheels Board believes no senior in Liberty should go hungry. The requested funds will be used to provide monies for a contingency fund needed for emergency support for recipients who appear to legitimately need subsidized meals. The Mid-America Regional Council subsidizes meals for 15 recipients in our program and has met their cap. Clay County Senior Services also subsidizes meals but many recipients in need do not qualify for their funding. Any additional funds are used for potential recipients who fall through the cracks in terms of receiving funding from our other two available sources. The number of recipients who have no other available funding source is constantly on the rise.
