What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Meadville Dental Center
The Meadville Dental Center, established in 2012, serves people living in Crawford County who are lack access to dental care, generally due to a lack of dental or medical insurance. On average, more than three patients per day visit the hospital's emergency room with serious dental problems. In order to combat this increasing problem and mitigate secondary factors from poor oral hygiene, the Meadville Dental Center is a critical not-for-profit service in our community.
Children's Health Network
Providing care and support to at risk children in our area and their families to treat immediate illness and mitigate long term threats toward a healthy lifestyle.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Foundation's three year goal is to build our endowment to $2 million in order to support projects, like the Children's Health Network, on a consistent basis without having to rely on annual donations. While doing so, we also aim to increase annual giving and estate gifts in order to support ongoing projects and continue building the endowment past the $2 million goal in 2016.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Raising funds is a key focus of the Foundation but it is not the only thrust of our efforts. We primary look to engage the community and promote importance of maintaining Meadville Medical Center as a sole community hospital, locally owned and managed by its own community members.
Through the process of engaging local community members, the Foundation will advance its fundraising efforts and reach its two primary financial goals.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
In July 2012, the Foundation hired a new president, Don Rhoten, who replaced the then retiring president John McCandless. In December 2014, the Foundation hired the third full time member of the team to assist in the Foundation's long term goals. A fully staffed team with a great deal of experience being guided by an outstanding Board of Directors enables the Foundation to work diligently toward achieving its goals.
100% of the Foundation's expenses are underwritten by the Meadville Medial Center which also offers the Foundation great flexibility when working with donors to fulfill 100% of their wishes.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Approximate endowment growth:

June 30, 2015: $1,100,000
June 30, 2016: $2,000,000 (Goal)
