What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Youth Art Programs

Parramore League of Artistic Youth (P.L.A.Y.)
is designed to be a professional development program for youth that augments the City of Orlando's ability to nurture developing young artists while using the workshops and program facilitators to develop and implement art based community projects.

Population(s) Served

The primary mission of the Spruill Foundation is to support the creative and educational development of young people and of talented and aspiring artists and scholars through our programs that preserve, perpetuate and make publicly accessible the extraordinary legacy of notable visual artist.. Beyond the material legacy, of Arthur Rayford's art, archives and literary works, the Foundation's mission is based entirely upon Rayford's own legacy of nurturing and supporting the creative and intellectual potential of artists, children and scholars. Named after Everett's mentor Arthur Rayford,  the Rayford Artists Program (RAP) continues his legacy in supporting artists through various stages of their careers. Offering interactive professional development workshops geared primarily to art students and practicing artists, the program is also open to the general public and provides scholarships for talented and economically needy art students.

Population(s) Served

Exhibitions of the Spruill Collection and Rayfords work are presented in various locations throughout Central Florida on a rotating schedule. They are accompanied by public programs that include gallery talks and lectures by scholars and artists.    All programs are free and open to the public. Art historians and scholars, fine artists, gallerists, choreographers, musicians, writers, poets and film makers, among others, provide diverse perspectives on Rayfords art as well as on visual art in general.
Using Rayfords art, life and legacy as a catalyst, the exhibitions program extends the exploration of themes in modern and contemporary art to include the role and significant contribution of American artists of African American heritage.
