What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
The Pongo Fund Pet Food Bank
Providing quality dog and cat food for the family pets of anyone in honest need; further protecting these animals from being abandoned or surrendered simply because their families cannot afford to feed them.
The Pongo Fund Emergency Kibble Response Team
The Pongo Fund Emergency Kibble Response Team responds as quickly as possible to provide help and comfort during emergency situations when animals are involved. Governmental agencies including the American Red Cross, Department of Human Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, Portland Police Bureau and others turn to us with confidence to help their clients through the toughest times.
The Pongo Fund Veterinary Response Team
The Pongo Fund Veterinary Response Team helps hundreds of sick and medically fragile animals each year. We bring together a Mobile Medical Hospital and a network of volunteer veterinarians and medical professionals dedicated to doing what needs to be done, including information, education, medication, physical therapy, spay-neuter, food, surgery and more. While we are not always able to help, we’ll always do our best to try.
SNaP: Spay-Neuter at Pongo
The Pongo Fund requires that all animals receiving food from The Pongo Fund Pet Food Bank be spayed or neutered, unless deemed unsafe or unnecessary due to age or illness*. If someone cannot afford to have their animals spayed or neutered then our Spay-Neuter at Pongo (SNaP Team) may be able to help get this done.
The Pongo Fund Meals on Wheels
The Pongo Fund provides high-quality dog and cat food to feed the family pets of senior citizens and others who receive meal deliveries from Meals On Wheels.
