What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports

Ogden Valley Adaptive Sports has been passionate about elevating people's lives with disabilities through winter sports and recreation for more than a decade. Our programs inspire confidence, self-esteem, and individual achievement in people of all ages with varying degrees of ability. The exhilaration of participating in outdoor recreation is genuinely life-changing. Each year, our staff and volunteers provide approximately 400 adaptive ski/snowboarding lessons to people of all ages living with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities at Ogden Valley ski resorts. Our new warm weather program --beginning with adaptive biking-- will increase the number of activities we offer and reach even more people. Our participants come from all walks of life—from young children in our local schools to veterans of the wars. Disabilities accommodated include autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, visual impairment, PTSD, spinal cord injuries, amputation, and several others.
