Financial Support

Financial support is distributed in response to family requests for payment towards their mortgage or rent, utilities, groceries, and gas. This type of funding means that rather than worrying about keeping the lights on or filling up the gas tank, families can focus their energy on fighting cancer with their child.

Emotional support is given in the form of a family gift, intended to lift their spirits as they navigate the highs and lows of their childhood cancer journey. Unique to the family’s circumstances, these gifts include toys, arts and crafts, and gift cards to order takeout, allowing families to feel a sense of comfort and normalcy during their hospital stay.

Events for play are opportunities for families to spend the day together and have fun while surrounded by a community of people who understand the challenges they are facing. During these events, families can be completely comfortable knowing that as they share in a light-hearted, joyful experience, their child is just like everyone else in the room.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our goal is to be one of the leading national organizations in the childhood cancer community for financial support.

Reach a yearly operating budget of 2 Million Dollars.

Continue to grow and develop new programs for families.

Have a facility that families can come to in Columbus, Ohio when out of treatments.

Our main strategy is to be the best no matter what our operating budget is. We are focusing on serving families in Central Ohio, our branches, and families that have come to us in other locations. We are currently accepting new families in Ohio and our branches. This is to help NC4K become long term sustainable. Families are not a number to us and we want to know where our dollars are going and how impactful it is. This takes time with each family but it brings so much value to our work and mission.

We have had several focus groups, strategic planning days, surveys, asked for feedback and continue to adapt and modify what we are doing and how we are doing it!

We have made great progress with board and staff planning days, focus groups and fundraising for this year. We have trimmed our budget in areas, added volunteer committees and focused on partnerships.

We are currently working on grant funding, new board members, increasing our safety net of funds and corporate sponsorships.
