What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The goal of the Cold Noses Foundation, Inc. is to help alleviate the suffering of stray animals through funding both long term and short term spay and neuter, medical and educational projects. We also aim to educate people about the plight of animals, the importance of proper pet care, spay and neuter, and the need for adoption. CNF focuses on programs that help as many animals and people as possible. Our goals are broad so that we do not limit our resources and have the ability to help where and when it is needed most. Long term goals will be to decrease the suffering of animals throughout the world by creating a more humane world one community at a time.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Cold Noses accomplishes its goals through three major funding programs. First is the General Grant Fund, where applicants apply for grants for specific projects. These projects can be for spay and neuter, veterinary care, humane education, rescue work, facility upgrades or wish list items. Grants for this program are given after thorough evaluation of the applicant and proposed program. This allows us to give funds to efficiently run organizations and those that will help accomplish our goal of alleviating suffering of animals.\r\nSecond, we help achieve our goals through our World Spay Day Fund where an organization is selected to host a low cost or no cost spay and neuter and vaccination event to highlight the importance of spay and neuter and to make the surgeries available to everyone.\r\nFinally, CNF has an Emergency Fund to help achieve our goal of helping those in urgent need, often as a result of disaster.\r\nThrough careful evaluation of applicants CNF helps put donor's funds to the best possible use to help improve life for homeless and neglected animals.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Cold Noses is first and foremost, a group of highly dedicated individuals that do not receive any compensation for their work. Therefore, CNF is made up of motivated Directors and Volunteers that share a common passion for animal welfare. \r\nCold Noses is all-volunteer which means we are passionate about our work for the animals and we save a lot of money by not paying Director salaries. This leaves more of each donation to go directly to the animals in need.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Cold Noses Foundation has positively impacted the lives of thousands of animals in need all over the world. \r\nEvery year we fund free and low cost spay and neuter programs as well as Trap/Neuter/Release and Vaccination programs. We also have supplied countless supplies of food and medical supplies to tornado pet victims in the United States. Along with these programs, we have also funded outreach to help educate and provide resources to pet owners.\r\n\r\nOur progress is ongoing and we strive to increase the number of animals helped every year.
