What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Gateway House for Women seeking Long-term Substance Abuse Treatment
This program will offer temporary housing as a gateway between the streets or incarceration and a long-term residential treatment program for substance abuse. Women with whom we are working to secure a bed in a residential program may stay at the Gateway House as they wait for the admission process to be completed and the bed to be available. We will provide transportation to the treatment facility if needed, and supply the toiletries and other items they are required to take if needed. While at the Gateway House, the women will receive loving care, be fed three meals a day, have classes offered in cooking, housekeeping, arts and crafts, Bible studies, personal care, as well as required drug classes.
Addiction Resources and Referrals
Twenty-four hour/seven days per week telephone line is available for individuals who are looking for a substance abuse treatment program or for out-patient classes or programs of some sort. We work with men and women, parents, spouses, and friends in whatever capacity we deem is most appropriate for the need. We will refer them to the appropriate program or help them with the admission process as well as transport to a residential facility.
Lifeline Classes through Adult and Teen Challenge
Lifeline classes are offered through Adult and Teen Challenge, a six month out-patient drug program that is faith based. Each class is nine to twelve weeks in length. Insight, Twelve Step, Overcoming Setbacks and Disappointments, Anger, Depression, Restoring Families, and others are available. Currently offered to women in the Wayne County Jail, and when the Gateway House opens in the summer of 2019, they will be offered there as well, to anyone in the community who wants to attend.
