What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Program 1
Weekly cooking program working with ID and DD adults to promote healthy nutrition and life skills. We work on food safety, food nutrition, food prep, portion control and appropriate eating habits. We work together to prepare different vegetables, taste and experience different foods, and work as a team to make a group meal. We also work on appropriate social skills during meal time. We meet for three hours, weekly with 10 to 15 clients discussing, making and enjoying a weekly meal.
Program 2
Facilitated Recreation Center is open 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday, noon to 5:30pm, for our adults with disabilities to build peer relations, engage in social activities, arts and crafts and work on appropriate and positive social skills. We engage in Wii Bowling, Uno card games and our clients work on learning and practicing appropriate social skills with their peers and other adults.
Program 3
Work in a community based thrift store two mornings a week. We work on vocational skills, social skills and overall occupational skills which build self esteem in a positive environment, while providing a necessary reliable work force to the thrift store.
