Mission: The mission or core purpose of Fisher House Wisconsin (FHW) is to:

Provide a home away from home for families of Veterans and service members receiving medical care from any designated Veterans Administration (VA) hospital or medical facility located in Wisconsin and any other hospital or medical facility located in Wisconsin to which the VA has referred for care.

Improve support systems and quality of life for families of Veterans and service members receiving care from any designated VA hospital or medical facility located primarily in Wisconsin and collaborating medical centers within the VA Great Lakes Health Care System (VISN 12).

Support the mission of Fisher House Foundation.

Strategic Direction: To achieve our vision, the focus of our efforts for the foreseeable future will be:

1. To ensure the sustainability of FHW services for future generations
2. To expand geographic reach of FHW, meeting needs at the Milwaukee and Madison VA medical centers and the Northeast WI Ambulatory Care Clinics
3. To help enhance the quality of life and experience of patients and families of Veterans and service members who receive medical care at designated VA medical centers and collaborating medical centers within the VA Great Lakes Health Care System (VISN 12).

2021-2025 Initiatives: The specific initiatives and tactics we will execute during this time to fulfill our mission, vision and direction:

1. Complete facility improvements and provide for periodic maintenance needs at the Milwaukee Fisher House
2. Support development of a Fisher House serving the Madison VA campus
3. Enhance quality of life and experience of patients and families of Veterans and service members receiving medical care at designated VA medical centers
4. Increase awareness/engagement and continue to grow and maintain a positive brand reputation for FHW.
5. Expand geographic outreach and support services to help enhance patient experience and build awareness and utilization of FHW services.
