Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy - Head Start

The Lawrence County Early Childhood Academy (LCECA) provides comprehensive early childhood services. The LCECA Programs have a variety of service options available. These service options are provided at various locations throughout the county.

The Family Medical Centers of Lawrence County Ohio offer residents excellent Primary Care, Pediatrics, Dentistry, and Behavioral Health Care regardless of ability to pay or insurance eligibility. We are the award winning health care extension of the Ironton-Lawrence County Community Action Organization.

The CAO helps an average of 2,500 income eligible, elderly, or disabled HEAP clients each winter and over 900 each summer. Customers may apply for Regular HEAP, Emergency HEAP, and Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) Plus services.

The Department of Community Development was established in 1981 to provide a wide array of services to Lawrence County. These services are ever expanding to include such activities as providing emergency rental assistance to homeless persons, working to provide economic development and job creation opportunities throughout the County, improving and expanding public infrastructure to the unserved and underserved areas in the County and performing the duties as the administering agent for various grants at the County and municipal level.

CAO helps low-income residents make their homes more energy-efficient, ensuring that less of their monthly income is spent on heating costs.
