SOMEBODY CARES AMERICA INC
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We are aiming to address several needs:\\r\\n1. After natural and manmade disasters, victims suffer from physical, emotional and spiritual needs which, if left unmet, can lead to fatalities, injuries and/or PTSD.\\r\\n2. Many leaders today, in all segments of society, are facing new and increasing challenges and pressures to compromise on moral and ethical matters which can lead to both individual and corporate crises if they are not equipped to properly overcome those challenges.\\r\\n3. Communities across the country face a variety of issues negatively impact individuals, families and the community at large; things like racial strife, lack of resources, and lost hope can devastate a region and its residents.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Disaster Response
-Assisting those affected by Hurricane Ian with initial relief and recovery efforts by providing hot meals, sending supplies, distributing furniture and other household items, and offering compassionate Crisis Care Training to first responders, pastor and community leaders so they can continue to care for those in their community who are struggling with anxiety, grief and stress.
-Providing winter supplies and groceries to families still recovering from the flooding in Kentucky; as well as providing Somebody Cares Bears to children for comfort.
-Mobilizing support for the provision of blankets, heaters, meals, shelter and more to survivors of the earthquake in both Turkey and Syria.
-Responding to large scale US disasters like flooding, wild fires, tornados, hurricanes and more.
Community Outreach
Through chapters and ministry partners we mobilize various types of community outreach like: food assistance in low income areas, school supplies and educational mentoring for at-risk youth; providing help for the homeless, a variety of Holiday outreaches, and more.
Leadership Development
Providing leadership training and mentoring to church and non-profit leaders so they have a greater chance of successfully achieving the goals of their organizations and maintaining balance in their lives for longevity and resilience. This is done both in-person as well as through ZOOM and other on-line meetings.
Prayer Mobilization
Encouraging individual and corporate prayer for the Church, significant issues in our world, and the nation. This can take the form of social media mobilization, large corporate gatherings for prayer, and regular prayer updates.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. Respond to both natural and manmade disasters by providing tangible aid, crisis and trauma chaplaincy, as well as spiritual hope to help individuals and communities recover and rebuild their lives.\\r\\n2. We offer a variety of training opportunities throughout the year, around the country, for leaders. In addition to training, we offer leadership resources that can be used by individuals as well as in group training settings.\\r\\n3. We provide counsel and training to partners desiring to see transformation in their communities. Some of this is done on a national level, bringing partners together from across the country so they can learn from one another; and some is done in local communities helping partners address issues in they face at the grass roots level.

In 2017 alone SCA provided food, water, hot meals, shelter assistance, cleaning supplies, building supplies, volunteer teams, chaplaincy care and more in response to Hurricanes Harvey, Ike and Marie as well as to the Mexico earthquakes. At the writing assistance is still be provided in response to Harvey and Marie.\\r\\n2. The principles in these resources provide the basis for the training. Last year several Leadership Awakening training opportunities were provided across the country. They have been well received and leaders who attended those gatherings have invited us to bring the training to their communities. \\r\\n3.
