Mission

The nonprofit Prevention Partners builds healthier lives through healthy places: schools, workplaces, hospitals and clinics. With expertise in public health and organizational change, we translate the latest prevention science on tobacco use, physical activity, nutrition and obesity into real-world practices — policies, benefits, and environmental changes. Through technology innovations, we have created nationally recognized assessment and training products for employers, schools, hospitals and health clinics.

WorkHealthy America

Healthy employees are good for the bottom line. Wellness policies, programs and benefits are the most effective ways to encourage long-term healthy behaviors among your employees, resulting in fewer days out sick and increased productivity.
WorkHealthy America is NC Prevention Partners' signature product. This evidence-based and user friendly program is a one-stop wellness shop, with all the tools businesses need to help employees lead healthier and more productive lives. The program includes an initial assessment, online tools and resources to assess existing health-supportive policies, customized strategic prevention plans, and a system to monitor effectiveness. The end result is healthier workplaces, bottom-line savings and improved individual health.
NC Prevention Partners has partnered with leading pharmaceutical corporations to bring WorkHealthy America to businesses, government agencies and schools. In addition, we have partnered with researches at UNC-Chapel Hill, the NC Deptartment of Transportation and the NC Department of Corrections in the "Highway to Health" research study. This study aims to test the impact of WorkHealthy America along with a year-long employee wellness competition in a state agency.
