Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Specialized Exotic Wild Animal Care
In-Sync Exotics provides specialized care for over 70 exotic wild cats (and two lemurs) by offering our animals species specific diets, medical care (utilizing both our on-staff veterinarian and multiple specialists), spacious habitats complete with toys, tubs and pools, enrichment, and lots of loving attention. We are unique because our facility provides a home for animals that most other sanctuaries are unable or unwilling to accept due to health or age-related problems--the old, the maimed, and the socially unadjusted exotic cats find solace with us.
Community Outreach Program
As part of our Community Outreach Program, we visit schools, churches and organizations to inform the public the importance of responsible animal care and to provide a general idea of what it is like to operate a successful exotic wild animal sanctuary. We also have educated thousands of adults and children through their tours at our sanctuary. We have a summer camp for children, and an intern program that has hosted over 60 college students (both Americans and international students). We also utilize social media to educate the public.
Volunteer Program
We are extremely proud of our volunteers as they provide invaluable care and support for our animal residents. In-Sync Exotics runs almost entirely on volunteer labor—they are the backbone of our organization!
Animal Rescue
We respond to requests from animal welfare organizations, law enforcement and various government agencies for the rescue of exotic cats in need.
Veterinary Research
Because most of the animals we rescue have previously lived for many years with little or no veterinary care, poor diets and inadequate housing, we are face with many veterinary challenges. Our on-staff veterinarian and the many specialists that we utilize work to better understand the needs of big cats and the health challenges they can face. We also specialize in rescuing geriatric cats, so we have learned a great deal about the special issues facing aging exotic cats.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our primary goals are to rescue mistreated exotic cats; provide them with a lifetime of excellent care; educate the public about the care and protection of exotic cats everywhere; and support legislation that outlaws poaching, abuse and the uncontrolled breeding of exotic cats.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Rescue:
We have a specially designed trailer for the transportation of exotic cats, and a very experienced team of rescuers. We have successfully completed many rescues throughout the United States, including as far away as Montana, California and New York.
Care:
Our facility is designed for the comfort of our animals, and we provide outstanding diets and excellent veterinary care with our own on-staff veterinarian and multiple specialists.
Education:
Our education program has reached thousands of adults and children through on-site tours, and our team also attends off-site events to promote awareness (we do not bring animals to off-site events). We have an educational summer camp for children, and an intern program that has hosted over 60 American and international college students.
Legislation:
We have actively promoted legislation protecting exotic cats by sharing petitions with our supporters, and by speaking at government hearings.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our facility and enclosures are created for the safety and comfort of our animals. Our on-site vet clinic allows us to perform most necessary veterinary care at our facility, and we utilize various specialists as needed. Our trained staff and volunteers provide outstanding are for our animals. Our educational visitor center and our well-informed team provide excellent information to visitors through our educational efforts. Our website and social media efforts reach many additional people (our Facebook page alone has over 30,000 followers).
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished the rescue or rehab/release of over 170 exotic cats, and the growth of our facility, staffing and programs. However, our work will not be complete until we stop receiving dozens of requests for help rescuing unwanted or neglected exotic cats each year. Until people realize the problems caused by the uncontrolled breeding of exotic cats in captivity and the challenges faced by these animals, our most important goal will not be met – to no longer be necessary.
