Mission
Created to promote the values of Barat College after it was merged with DePaul University, Barat is an entrepreneurial foundation that has invested more than $2.5 million in scholarships & innovative educational programs promoting civic leadership & action, building community, and advancing social justice through partnerships empowering teachers, students and communities. Almost since inception, Barat's Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources and Our American Voice programs have engaged teachers & students in fundamental civics learning and effective action to improve their schools, communities, and nation. Through these programs and others, the foundation has long been a leader in the use of technology to enhance this process.
