Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The ICF's mission is to inspire children in the state of Illinois by providing quality outdoor education and programs. The goal of these programs is to instill lifelong interest in conservation, ecology and sustainability. Beyond youth programs, the ICF works with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in several other statewide programs.

Strategies to ensure success include fundraising to provide free youth programs, corporate partnerships and events that raise funds and new supporters.

In order to meet goals, the ICF works with more than 10,000 donors as well as statewide friends groups and partners. The ICF also has the resources of the IDNR to help meet awareness and fundraising goals.

Accomplishments for the ICF include funding youth outdoors education programs, biodiversity field trips, backyard habitat grants, scholarships, land acquisition, reforestation, equipment purchases and more. Future projects include completing the Eternal Indian Statue in Lowden State Park, rebuilding camp buildings at Pere Marquette State Park, and continued annual fundraising and programs.
