What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
To continue growing membership and to increase member-to-member volunteering that adds to the health, wellness, and security of older adults.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Sharing member experiences; outreach to public including health, legal, and financial professionals who work with older adults; seeking increased community links to connect members to housing, services, social opportunities SAIL offers and other community based organizations; provide members with unique life planning workshops to learn from experts while drawing from the experiences of fellow members.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have 500 members ages 55-100 who have amazing experiences, wisdom, and talents to share with the organization and fellow members; a solid network of professionals in the fields of aging, housing, finances, law, arts, home services, etc.; we continue to grow our donor program and we have a solid staff team with backgrounds in nursing, OT, and psychology.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have improved membership numbers--recruitment and retention. Members have created new programs and interest groups that are needed and well received. We have increased the number of volunteers; services requested have increased.
