Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

The Kinnickinnic River Land Trust works with the community to protect the health and wellbeing of the watershed through conservation easements, preserves, education, and stewardship. Our main goal is to keep the Kinni River clean, cold, and free forever. Our strategic initiatives are to focus on remediating and preparing for climate change impacts, becoming more diverse and inclusive, and make our preserves accessible to all the community stakeholders.

1. Obtaining two or more conservation easements per year.
2. Maintaining, monitoring, and proper stewardship of our conservation easements and preserves.
3. Making all four of our preserves accessible to community users through ADA paths and bridges.
4. Onboarding an increasingly diverse board of directors and staff.
5. Engaging with community organizations and events for education.
6. Contacting community members with educational materials as well as through our fundraising drives.

The Kinnickinnic River Land Trust (KRLT) has protected more than 3,000 acres of land and ten miles of shoreline along the river since 1993. The nonprofit conservancy works with the community to preserve natural resources and scenic beauty. The KRLT has been a successful 501(c)(3) nonprofit for almost 30 years.

We have and steward 36 conservation easements and 4 preserves and will continue to add conservation easements in the future. Our immediate goal is to gain two conservation easements each year.
