Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Rescue/Placement program

We admit at-risk and homeless pets from our community and local animal control agencies.  All pets in our program receive any necessary medical care and spay/neuter surgery before being placed into their adoptive homes.   Last year we admitted and placed 155 puppies & dogs and 214 kitten & cats.

Population(s) Served

We provide veterinary care for extra-ordinary medical needs of our rescued pets, such as injuries, broken bones, heartworm, and mange treatments .

Population(s) Served

Many of the pets who come through our program are transferred to trusted placement partners in the northeast where adoption may happen more quickly for our rescues.  This allows us to help many more pets. Pets are transferred to the receiving placement partner using professional, licensed, USDA inspected transports.

Population(s) Served

This program provides financial assistance to help cover spay/neuter costs for family pets where the family cannot otherwise afford these lifesaving surgeries.  Our rural area also experiences a large feral/free-roaming cat population;  our program offers financial assistance to provide surgeries for these animals as well. We have established a toll free spay/neuter hotline and dedicated email address in order to make it easier for the public to access our program.
