Scholarships

Scholarships provide the resources necessary to support students in need, ensuring that those who show a desire to learn will have the opportunity. Through scholarships, Rockhurst University provides over $1 million in tuition assistance annually. Approximately 98% of all Rockhurst undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid.

Rockhurst undergraduate students benefit from the Liberal Core Curriculum which reflects the Jesuit ideal of a well-rounded education and the development of inquisitive life-long learners. Students learn the fundamental intellectual skills and methods or modes of inquiry, employed in the pursuit of knowledge, to cultivate a broad range of intellectual abilities.

The Center for Arts & Letters is comprised of 14 arts programs, including Musica Sacra and Visiting Scholars Lecture Series. The Center’s mission is to provide these organizations with coordination, advocacy and support, and to function as a central resource for the University’s cultural life. The Center enhances the lives of urban residents through the arts, and strengthens the urban core as a vibrant arts district.

The Community Center serves the needs of neighborhood families and businesses. In partnership with local nonprofit organizations, the Community Center offers programs addressing the concerns of education, poverty, racial division and violence. The Center for Service Learning empowers individuals to move toward social action, engaging the Rockhurst community in a process that combines preparation and reflection with community service to create awareness and solutions to social problems.

The Prosperity Center for Financial Opportunity is located on the Rockhurst University campus. We are in partnership with  Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Heart of America United Way in seeking to serve as a resource for clients needing financial literacy assistance, job coaching and placement and income support assistance. The Prosperity Center is open to the public and focuses on improving the financial bottom line for low-to-moderate income families, helping them to change their financial behavior in a way that encourages long-term commitment to building a bright financial future.
