TAILS OF NYE COUNTY

Let's ALL Be Part Of The Solution By Having Our Pets Spayed & Neutered!

PAHRUMP, NV   |  www.tailsofnyecounty.org

Mission

Our mission is to end pet over-population in Nye County through our Trap-Neuter-Return program for stray and feral cats and our low-cost spay and neuter program for companion dogs and cats.

Notes from the nonprofit

Our organization is based in Pahrump, NV, a rural community in Nye County. Nye is the 3rd largest county in the contiguous US with a population of only 45,346*. Pahrump is located in southern Nye County where most of the population resides. Among Nye County’s population there is a high poverty rate (15.2%*) as well as a large senior population (30.1%*). There is much need in our community for low cost veterinary services including spay and neuter. Tails of Nye County fills some of this void by providing low cost spay and neuter services to the pets of southern Nye County’s disadvantaged residents. Additionally, we provide TNR to the many feral cat colonies in southern Nye County at no cost. All our volunteers work hard at our mission to reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats that would otherwise end up at Nye County’s already crowded shelters and rescues. * Statistics from the 2010 census.
