What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

We serve those who have been touched by Turner syndrome (TS), a chromosomal condition caused by the absence of all or part of the second X sex chromosome. TS affects more than 1 out of every 2,000 females. Each female has her own unique medical issues and characteristics which may include short stature, heart defects, hearing loss, lack of ovarian development, and liver and kidney malformations. Our Christ-centered mission is to transform the Turner syndrome community, Spiritually, Emotionally, and Physically.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our support programs are designed to create an empowered Turner syndrome community. Our goal is to raise awareness of this disorder and to support women and families touched by Turner syndrome.

1) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week prayer support via text and email: https://leapingbutterfly.org/resources/

2) Hearing Aid Scholarships: https://leapingbutterfly.org/hearing-aids/

3) Chrysalis Retreat (Virtual or Face-to-Face): https://leapingbutterfly.org/chrysalis

4) Adoption Support: https://leapingbutterfly.org/resources/

5) Celebration of Life Tributes(Butterfly Angels): https://leapingbutterfly.org/butterfly_angels/

With the support of our generous donors, dedicated LBM leaders (volunteers), and a committed LBM operations team, we are changing one life at a time.

Our core values are to be committed to Christ, the call, the Turner syndrome community spiritually, emotionally, and physically … and have great joy in doing so.

🦋 500+ lives touched to date with prayer support (Program began in 2018)
🦋 280+ active members in Butterfly Nectar (average 10 new members join each month) (Program began in 2018)
🦋 31 sets of hearing aids to date to adult women with TS (Program began in 2015)
🦋 200+ reached to date with the virtual 2020 Chrysalis Retreat (Program began in 2020)
🦋 150+ lives touched to date with adoption-specific prayer support (Program began in 2019)
🦋 50+ lives to date with miscarriage, death, and TS-diagnosis-related prayer support (Program began in 2020)

We continue to seek the appropriate support that our TS community needs, seeking more LBM leaders and expanding TS awareness around the world.

In 2021, we are working to expand our adoption program to provide more than just around the clock prayer support. It is our goal to begin providing effective educational and emotional support for those considering adoption.

In 2021-2022, we hope to expand our prayer support program to offer a crisis prayer hotline for those in despair or distress with direct phone support. Those that we wish to help in the future include:
• Those who have just been told their unborn baby has Turner syndrome (TS)
• Those who have lost their baby due to a miscarriage and their baby girl had TS
• Those who are feeling isolated or alone
