What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our mission is to provide water wells in Niger, Africa. We work in remote areas where there are no other organizations working to provide water. The current water sources are open and contaminated by animals, soil, and parasites. 64% of the population does not have access to clean water. There are many needs in such an impoverished country, yet our focus is to address the basic need of water. Accomplishing this effort in one of the poorest countries in the world requires special initiative. We have learned to expect the unexpected in every move we make. With a great team effort, we have met our initial goal of 33 wells. As of March 2022 we have over 70 wells completed. We were planning on purchasing duplicate equipment for the other end of the country in the Maradi area. This past year we hired a drill team to do the work and found out to be more cost effective. Our goal is to raise enough money for ten wells per year. The last three years we have over passed our goals.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Wells 4 Wellness Inc. original goal was to establish 33 wells in the poorest country in the world. Our supportive board of directors has been active with fundraising for this important mission. We have purchased our own drilling equipment. We have trained native men to learn the trade of water well drilling.
Since 2016 to date, we have completed over 70 wells. With approximately 1000 people benefiting per well, we have served over 45,000 people. The more wells we drill the more people in this poor country have a better chance to grow to a mature age. The basic need for fresh clean water is something everyone should be able to have. Their children can become educated and grow up to be able to have healthy, educated families of their own.
Our organization has learned how to operate in the difficulties of Niger. There are two drilling seasons, one from September until December, and another in January through April. In April it reaches almost 120 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not only difficult to work but the equipment cannot operate in the high heat. We use the off-season to work with the community members and plan the next locations of wells. We also take this time to continue to teach health and hygiene in all the villages that already have a well.
Our main accomplishment is serving the un-reached in villages where no services have been before. Two billion people in the world have water contaminated with animal feces. We are determined to do something about it.
There are no paid employees in the United States, as all efforts are on a volunteer basis. Eventually there will be a Succession plan for the Director with the establishment of a full development department with paid employees. With these plans, the organization will continue for generations to come.

The Purpose of this organization is to bring fresh clean water to the people of the remote villages of Niger, Africa.
We have laid a firm foundation: Purchased and sent a water drilling machinery and all the tools that it takes to drill water wells in Niger. We also purchased trucks and compressor. We have raised up a Native team of five men to provide jobs for their families and at the same time provide water for remote villages. We have not only met our first goal of 33 wells but we have installed many water towers(Chalet) for pressure and which made it possible to install flush toilets. We have provided pipelines from huge wells to neighboring villages. This well proved to have an abundance of water that economically it was smarter to install pipes to the neighboring village rather than drill another well.(Resembling like a city in the USA.) We have also duplicated this process in two schools, with 200 children in attendance.
We are determined to take the next steps of Transparency and accountability.
These are our steps. We have built a successful team which took several years but in the last 3 years we have increased in drilling and providing water sources for many villages.
The country statistics say that 14,000 wells are needed to bring fresh clean water to the remote places. 64% of the people of Niger do not have fresh clean water. Those are staggering statistics but we are determined to do more than our part. Now that we have an organization in place we feel that we can meet a great percentage of that need.
We are increasing our donor base more every year. Writing Grants, Identify more foundations to invest in us, speaking and making more opportunities for community awareness. Together we are making a difference for the country of Niger.
We are continuing to strategize on how to meet the peoples needs of Niger. Are first and foremost goal is to drill 33 wells. We are now at 70 and plan to continue doing so. Continue with new wells, continue to rehabilitate any wells that are broken, provide rain catchment systems continue to teach thorough hygiene and sanitation to insure maximum health and economic benefits. Our volunteers in Africa are being trained to raise up national leaders in their own communities.
The strategic plan is now that we have our organization in place we plan to continue drilling wells for the soul purpose to benefit the people of Niger.

We are a passionate enthusiastic group of people. No is not an acceptable answer. We have found solutions to many challenging situations. We have a cause to help and love people with an energy that will not stop. We have a great generous team in the USA and also an amazing capable trained team in Niger. We are working together to bring fresh clean water to the people of Niger.
We developed a local team that are from remote villages. They know firsthand how hard it is to survive in remote villages where they receive no help from anyone. They know for survival they have to work to make it happen. Our drill team is personally involved ensuring the success of the well drilling. They are so kind and love the work they do to ensure others do not grow up with the difficulties that they had. The love shows through in their eyes while they work. They sing and smile no matter how hot or difficult it is.
We hold one major fundraiser event per year and several smaller effective fundraisers. We have many opportunities to speak to groups across the nation. The Director is involved in many opportunities for bringing awareness to our mission. We have connections with different types of donors such as individuals, groups and foundations.
There is a great faith in God that He has led us every step of the way. We have a working plan in place that is bringing fresh clean water to remote villages.

We have reached our original goal of 33 wells. As of March 2022 we are working on our 70th well, in the most remote area of the world. We were planning a capital fund campaign in 2022 to duplicate and improve our drilling equipment. The people across the country of Niger were so desperate we decided to try and higher drill teams in Maradi and Diffa. We were able to reach the pressing needs of the people this way faster. As the year passed we determined it is better to hire teams at less expense and immediate water supply great needs were met.
We continue to identify more people who are interested in our mission who want to see this effort continue to provide people in extreme poverty with water.
Many people have thoughts, dreams and ideas but we decided to step out and “go for it.” We literally began this organization with nothing but the favor, friends and partners who have joined us along the way.
There is no monetary reward for us personally. We work very hard every week to connect with people around the world and provided opportunities for people to support the making of wells. We have managed to find the best selfless donors that anyone could ever have. They feel privileged to give so that those less fortunate than themselves can have their basic need met with fresh clean water. We have accomplished to find donors that want nothing from us but to help us fulfill our goals for the people of Niger. We will continue to accomplish our mission of providing clean water to the people of Niger.
