The mission of the O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. is to teach interpersonal skills, provide educational opportunities and nurture the development of social support systems for underserved populations. The O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. serves the geographic areas of the City of Tallahassee, Leon County, the greater Big Bend region, and the state of Florida.

What we aim to solve

We aim to provide a structured drop-in/program for participants that will help to reestablish individuals who are entering back into to the community through assessment-driven, evidence-based recruitment that will improve the long-term labor market prospects of returning citizens, as well as other marginalized populations; implement integrative strategies that includes case management, mentoring/tutoring, educational and/or vocational training that leads to industry-recognized credentials, established workforce activities, job placement, a sufficient economic resource plan to regularly maintain an established budget for obligations/responsibilities, and two years of after-care/follow-up services; form lasting peer/mentor support systems for successful program transitioning of individuals that define a clear career, financial and life management path; and operate a revolving, sustainable revenue stream model of social entrepreneurship services through program-related investments.

Widening Ex-Offender Resources

The O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. helps program participants develop work ethic, occupational/educational goals, civic engagement awareness, entrepreneurial strategies and sustainability for future financial independence. As a result, the infrastructure of this “each one, teach one” organizational model helps build human capital and economic mobility that reduces taxpayer cost, improves public safety and establishes productive and informed citizens.

Population(s) Served

Through the use of a community portal, our program is able to reach potential cohorts, build resources and develop entrepreneurial opportunities. Cohorts will participate in a personalized program of services from ages 18 and over with the goal of preparing them for employment, educational goals, careers, entrepreneurship, and independent permanent housing. Cohorts are taught and encouraged to become completely self-sufficient, creating their choices and possibilities to pursue employment or entrepreneurial opportunities to avoid the need for public assistance. Residents will be given the venue to expand their social perspectives and increase cultural awareness to become more integrated into a diverse society. Provided services include: transportation, food, housing, vocational/educational, allied health and civic outreach assistance

Our target goals for increasing housing placement include: assisting in locating affordable, safe and stable housing; providing housing contact information; aiding with application requirements and
housing availability forms; establishing partnerships with affordable housing providers and local rental properties; maintaining collaborative alliances for HUD Investing in reentry housing contracts that enable more participants to succeed and not repeat criminogenic patterns due to lack of shelter; regularly seek financial resources or credit
history necessary to secure housing.

The O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to "reclaim, restore and rebuild" lives through education, viable resources and social entrepreneurship. Our vision is to reduce the barriers and challenges that marginalized populations encounter through lack of resources, opportunities, relationships and education.

1. The O.C.E.O. Foundation's organizational model stems from an "each one, teach one" concept from Delancey Street in San Francisco, CA. Our core teaching values (Commitment, Communication, Courage, Honesty, Humility, Patience, Respect and Responsibility) foster character-building to empower, educate and transform program participants lives, as well as create services the community needs for capacity building, economic mobility and sustainability.

The O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. has a remarkable network of seasoned professionals and talented volunteers that have operations and program expertise across diverse sectors, including: professional development, capacity building, finance, team building, academia, consulting, strategic planning. and administrative management.

In addition, The O.C.E.O. Foundation, Inc. has a strong community outreach and civic-engagement core that expands within the social sectors of national service, corporate partners, and community and economic development.

What we have accomplished and/or our upcoming organizational goals include:

• Consistently measure program performance by using evidence-based risk assessment tools that generate the overall percentage of program service effectiveness.

• Successfully complete interview, hiring and placement of all vacant Board member, volunteer intern and personnel positions.

• Establish our first office

• Initiate fundraising efforts to help maximize program operating expenses for participant direct service needs assisting with transportation, health care access, basic living necessities, residential placement, financial literacy, career training and employment opportunities.
