What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Football Teams
We have two teams, the Bulls (10-11 years) and the Dawgs (8-9 years). For our players, we provide uniforms, helmets, shoulder pads, practice materials, water and any other essentials to the game. All we ask of our players is to be consistently present and attentive. Before and after each practice and game, we teach both teams with a devotional. Each week, the devotionals rely on a common theme teaching valuable life skills. Through this programming, we are able to develop deeper relationships between our players and their families and our coaches. Our goal through this is to encourage positive coach-player relationships. Studies show that the more positive adult influences a child has, the more likely they are to lead a successful and healthy lifestyle.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The ultimate goal of Memphis Gridiron Ministries is to coach our players in life more so than football. We want to empower these young men to become positive influences in their communities. MGM also strives to teach valuable life skills through the sport of football.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We coach our coaches: making sure they are equipped and willing to lead their young men. We do this though coaches breakfasts, meetings and development meetings. We want our coaches to live out their life in a positive way so that our players can learn from example. MGM also performs devotions and bible studies before and after practices and games.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have the budget set aside that if we were unable to raise any funds, we could continue the programming for 4-5 years. We are consistently recruiting and retaining coaches as volunteers. Also, there is a consistent positive trend of kids in the neighborhood that are showing interest in football, increasing our total number of participants.
